How to irritate the cashier at Joann Fabrics

I really didn't MEAN to irritate the clerk and the customers behind me in the line today, but I did. And for that I'm sorry, not very sorry, but a little bit.

How did I irritate all those people? I waited in line for my turn, then I placed this on the counter to be rung up.

I never really thought about the fact that the cashier can't just rung up 80 X 29 cents. No, each individual skein of floss needs to be scanned separately because they inventory the colors based on what gets scanned. Sigh. So I was there for quite a long time waiting for it all the be scanned. By the time all the stuff printed out, I had a receipt that was 42 inches long!

I also bought these fabrics. I always seem to be so low on the number of lights in my stash, so I decided to buy a few more while I happened to be in the store. So that is 7 more yards added to the stash. The black I need for a kit I'm cutting myself.

The same thing happens to me when I stock up on canned cat food... each can must be rung individually which tends to annoy the people behind me. Ahhh, the joys of modern computer tracking :-)

Oh, goodness. People behind you can just take a Be-Patient pill. We all have such times when we need to be the slow pokes at the cash register. What the heck. Now you're set for some good crafting. I like all the lights you chose!

At my Joann Fabrics we have to wait in a long, single winding line and wait until a cashier is available. There is usually at least two cashiers so the line moves pretty fast. Your post made me smile at the thought of the irritated cashier. How many times are we irritated when they have run out of items on sale?

In response to my blog, I think I'd rather have happen to me (woodchuck) instead of what happened to you (cat)! I would have been even a bigger mess if it had been a cat. Poor you!

LOL, I have been second in line behind someone buying 100's of pages of scrap book paper, each one has to be scanned, I know the clerk is irrated, but that's the job. What difference does it make to them, they are getting paid.
And you are right on about samples sell, that's why I'm so busy.

I found out that fact about the floss not long ago at JoAnns too. I usually have a wait in line before checking out so I didn't feel too badly. Too bad they have to do each one individually, it does take a while.

I can't wait to get to Joanns. 29 cents? That's great! I'm sure it's a lot higher here in Japan. Guess I just added another purchase to my list.

HA HA HA HA HA I have to last at your flosses at Michaels comments. I have to laugh when they see me coming with my basket of 38 flosses also. It's their fault they have to ring each one in individually!!! : P
