Random Acts of Kindenss

I've had a couple of really lousy days this week, but something happened this morning that seems to have brought me out from under the dark cloud.....

For the second time in about a month, I was the recipient of a Random Act of Kindness. Both of them happened in the same place, my beloved Dunkin Donuts, as I was getting our morning coffee. When I pulled up to the drive thru, money in hand, the clerk told me that the person in the car in front of me had paid for my order! Thank you very much, nice lady in the green car! So I paid for the person behind me.

I heard on the news one day last week that the same thing happened somewhere in a Starbucks, and that it resulted in a chain of a few dozen people paying for the person behind them! Isn't that cool???

This really made my day today, and had helped me put my lousy week behind me.

Glad to hear there is good in the world. Have you seen the movie Evan Almighty? I think you'd enjoy it after reading your post.

I'm glad you are feeling in better spirits. I tried that last year at a MacDonald's (I blogged about it sometime in May I think) and went through a whole range of feelings (scared, guilty, silly). I'll have to try it again!

I don't always think to do something like this but it's wonderful isn't it?

I was in Joann's a couple of weeks before Christmas and a woman with 3young kids was trying to pay with a check and she didn't have her wallet with her ID. Joann's wouldn't let her write a check but I paid for her purchases and let her write me a check. Such a simple thing but she was grateful that she didn't have to go home, get her wallet, and drive back with the kids!
